• Question: Are there any negatives to being an engineer?

      Personally I don’t think so as the world of engineering is so big so you’re always learning new things and always finding new things to make:D You have to make sure you enjoy it though, any job can have it’s negatives if you don’t enjoy it! But I love engineering so it’s all positives for me:D

      Of course. Nothing is perfect!
      I find it hard being in a male dominated environment sometimes. That being said, it’s becoming more rare to be the only female engineer at the company (as I am now).
      You also have to accept that to be a good engineer, you have to put in hours of work. Both at University and in the field. It can be hard watching friends in other course/jobs do 8hrs of work and then go home when you know you have to put in 12 hrs.
      Still, in my opinion it’s entirely worth it in the end! Nothing beats the feeling of solving problems.
