Liking or loving something is not necessary, but it helps. If you like something you are more likely to commit yourself to it and therefore be better at it.

You want to be able to do a job you love. As an engineer you’ll be using science all the time so it would certainly help if you liked it 🙂

In all honesty, yes you do. Doing a job you love is the best thing because you actually enjoy getting up and going to work and you actually enjoy the challenges and adventures that you come across in the science and engineering world. However, a lot of my friends in Ireland are mechanical engineers who love cars but don’t like science so that is one of the areas:D

depends what kind of engineer you want to be, I wasn’t the biggest fan of science at school but i love aviation and planes so the passion is still there, and i still love my job which doesn’t involve much science at all.

Yep! You don’t need to like Science the school subject but you have to enjoy applying scientific thinking to real world scenarios.
