I am thinking, when you say fast engines, you mean engines that make cars go faster.

There are a number of ways. A few are as follows:
1. Build a big engine. A bigger engine can burn more fuel, so generate more power, and hence make the car go faster.
2. Add things like turbo chargers and super charges, which add more air into the engine, therefore help burn more fuel, making the car go faster.
3. Make the car light-weight. If a car is light, it will take little effort to move it, so it’ll go faster.
4. Make the shape of the car smoother, with a sharpish front end. This will help it cut through air in a better way, and hence go faster.
